Black Tern / Fumarel común
Maximum size: 25 cm
They live in lagoons, wetlands, marshes and paddy-fields.
They nest between May and June. They build their buoyant nests on the
water in lagoons, and preferably in paddy-fields. They fly very low, practically
grazing the surface of the salt-water or fresh-water lagoons they prey
in to catch invertebrates.
They can be found in lagoons in the south of Europe, but in scarce

They are included in the Red List of the Vertebrates of Andalusia.
They are included in the National List of Endangered Species.
