Common Redshank / Archibebe común
Maximum size: 28 cm
They live in wetlands and marshes near the coast as well as inland.
In Andalusia they can be found in the River Guadalquivir marshes, in
Cádiz and Huelva, in Cabo de Gata (Almería), in the lagoon
of Fuente de Piedra (Málaga) and in the salt lakes of Santa Pola
(Alicante) and in the Delta del Ebro (Tarragona).
They are a very common species in Doñana and they can easily
be watched in marshlands and in muddy-flats. They are sedentary en they
nest in the park.
They are included in the National List of Threatened Species, and their
conservation status is ‘Vulnerable’.
