Habitat
Both species, the Spotless and the European starlings, live in
cropland areas near human settlements and sometimes even
within the centre, theparks and the green areas. They nest and
spend the night in big trees.
They always fly in great numbers. They are very gregarious and
theygather and fly in groups.
They colonise the meadows and parks in town becoming an
invasion. Theyfeed on invertebrates, fruits and berries. They
breed from April to June.
The individuals residing in towns become sedentary and they
move shortdistances around the nearby croplands, woodlands,
spinneys and riverbanks. Considerable groups migrate
after the breeding period.
