Habitat
They can be found on beaches, deltas, estuaries, ponds, pools, wetlands,
and lagoons both in the centre and the south of the Iberian Peninsula.
In the north of Europe they can be found in islands and the tundra.
They sometimes move about in flocks of hundreds of individuals.
They feed on worms, insects, crustaceans and molluscs.
They are frequent visitors in the wetlands and lagoon areas such as
Fuente de Piedra (Málaga)
They are very numerous throughout the year in Doñana, although
they are more customary in migration corridors.
